Great Haircut
My sister won a free haircut to Fresche from Decatur Concerts on the Square...she had a great experience at Fresche, and gave me 20% off coupon, so I figured, why not give them a whirl?
Becca gave me a great haircut and highlights ( 1/2 price if you take a friend on Wednesdays...great deal!).
I just went back this Saturday for another haircut and got a lot of compliments at work! I'm a teacher, and even my students liked it.(That's the ultimate compliment!) You go, Becca!

Just Do It!
I finally decided to honor my late mother with a tattoo. I looked up Ink & Dagger on Kudzu, and with their ratings, made an appointment. Kurt did mine, and what a wonderful tattoo it is! Minimal pain (just tingling). He's an artist, and made a great drawing of exactly what I had in mind. I had just a little peeling, but no itching or scabbing. It healed up great. I'm ready for my second tattoo. Definitely see Kurt.

BUYER BEWARE!
I contacted Mr. Payne based on his Kudzu reviews. I'm astonished that he received so many "5 star" reviews, because my experience was far less than even decent.
When I bought my dryer from him, he seemed like a nice guy. Then, the gas dryer leaked and he had to return to repair it several times. Even though I had bought it less than a month before, I still had to pay for the part.
The dryer started smelling like gas again in May. I called Mr. Payne and he came over a couple of days later (LATE, very late, as usual). He installed a "heating unit", the part cost $48, but the entire bill was $133, for less than an hour's service. Less than a week later, the dryer reeked of gas again. I called Mr. P on Tuesday and he told me he'd be over Wednesday. He never came, or called. I called Thursday, and he assured me he'd be over. Again, a no-show.I finally had my brother-in-law call, because I was getting nowhere. Mr. Payne called me back, very agitated, ranting and raving about his stress, blood pressure, and that he was ready to quit the business because of people like me. He did agree to come over Friday, between 9am-12pm Again, a no-show. I finally called him at 4pm and told him to forget it. So, I've spent over $300 and am stuck with a dryer that leaks gas and is a hazard.
I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. His responses to poor reviews are laughable! He's a smooth talker, so I'll remind you. "buyer Beware"!

Where's Canada?
I called to make an appointment with P.A. Canada and was told she's no longer there :(
I really trusted her and liked her more than any doc I've been to. Does anyone know where she is?

Great haircut
I was looking for a new stylist, so I checked out the reviews on Kudzu. Found Grow and couldn't be happier with my new "do". Martha was so friendly, listened to what I wanted and gave me the look I had in mind. Great job! Also, very reasonable ($35 compared to the $60 I was paying for less quality)I'll be back for sure!

WORST IN TOWN
If you're smart DO NOT sign up for DirectTV in any way, shape or form. Sure, they're wonderful on the phone when they're selling you a bill of goods. But, I NEVER recieved a bill after the first month and they cut my service off and called in a collection agency. They were sending my bill to a P.O. Box in Wyoming instead of my coreect address right here in the ATL! I called them numerous times, and they said they'd bill me. Never got a bill. Just whacked off the service! When I called, they were so rude, actually hanging up on me 3 times within an hour. All I wanted to do was give them the correct address to pay my bill, but they wouldn't allow it! Go figure...Never do business with this company. They don't care once they have you roped into their "contract". Rude, unprofessional,
incompetent, just to say the least. Try Comcast!

Thanks, Scott
Before I called an electrician, I checked out the reviews on Kudzu. Scott was my man. I called because after plugging a nightlight into a kitchen outlet, it blew, taking out the refrigerator. I flipped the switches in the box, and still nothing. Scott was over the next day. He checked the kitchen outlets,
and "voila", mysteriously, they were working. I felt pretty stupid, but better safe than sorry.
Scott would not accept any payment, although he drove from Tucker to Decatur.
What a nice guy! Great sense of humor, too.
Next time anything electrical goes wrong, I'm calling Scott...he's my new electrician!

We Love Calvino's!
We went to Calavino's for my sister's birthday and had a fantastic dinner. Wonderful appetizers (Calamari and artichokes were delicious!), huge, buttery seared scallops over polenta triangles..simple, but oh so good. Service was excellent, (Get Nikki) and Calavino is always making sure everything is just so. She's a warm and sweet presence that just adds to the overall dining experience and makes it our new favorite restaurant. The prices are also very reasonable and they have a great wine list as well.

Just Okay
After reading great reviews, we decided to give Cafe Alsace a try. The service was fine. The food was just okay, though. I ordered the spaetzel with ham and onions. The sauce was very tasty, but
there was hardly any ham in it at all. Just a few lonely little peices, each about one centimeter square, if that. Mainly, it was a dish full of doughy noodles. (Sort of like the kind you'd find in chicken and dumplings). My companion had the crepe special with chicken. Tough, chewy chicken, that is. Salads were okay...still don't get why they put niblets corn in it. Wine was overpriced. Won't go back.
