Incredible Honesty & Integrity!

I happened on Butch and The Toy Shop when I had a "lemon" used Maxima. I had a noise from what turned out to be a rear strut, found The Toy Shop, and took the car in. Butch spent a good amount of time,diagnosed the problem, and recommended I NOT spend any money on it unless I just wanted to!! I can't recall the last time a mechanic suggested I not spoend money with them on a repair. Since then, I take both my other Maxima (170,000 miles) and my Sonata (120,000 miles)and can't be more satisfied with Butch's service and ethics!

I looked in Kudzu and called the top two rated wildlife removal companies to see what was up as I was hearing "activity" in my attic. Sean, Animals B' Gone, came out after the 1st company gave me a one page "quote" with very minimal info on what they would do for $1,600. I received an e-mailed 11 page document from Sean that same day with PICTURES showing the damage and other areas of concern. I choose Sean due to his professionalism and that he proposed far more work for only $20 more than the 1st company. Sealed a 1" gap between roof and outside wall of 185 linear feet, used metal mesh on gable vent, 2 roof vents, and replaced 18 feet of soffitt & painted! Also did several other repairs not included in quote at NO cost! Best thing is he put a one way "exit" from the attic after sealing it up so mom & kids could leave but not get back in, NO trapping needed. GREAT job, one day to complete, follow up attic inspection and another e-mailed conclusion report WITH pictures of completed work! Includes a LIFETIME transferable warranty also. DON'T use anyone else!!

Not Impressive

I've had Universal do my limited service work needs for the past couple of years with good results. However, my downstairs a/c iced over last week and I called on a Tuesday afternoon for service and was told they couldn't get out until Friday morning. I called Thursday afternoon to confirm for the next morning and was told they couldn't find my service order. Thank goodness i was talking to the same young man I originally made the appointment with as I was able to convince him that he "could make it happen for the same appointed time". Tech came out on time, very friendly. Proceeded to tell me that the unit was a few pounds low on Freon and it would be $189 for the 1st lb. and $89 something for each pound after. He told me he could take the time to find the leak but it "would cost as much to fix the leak as it would to buy a new system". I knew that to be a bunch of BS but didn't discuss. The tech never did anything other than add Freon, no leak test, no changing of filter, no look at the inside coil. I had to ask him to put some duct tape over the seems around the air handler that i took off to look at the coil myself. Overall, not a great experience. not bad but not great. VERY minimal effort. Interesting to note that unless i missed one, I don't see any responses from Universal to any of the posts, positive or negative, on Kudzu. One who appears to be very RELIABLE posts on every one.

Outstanding Roofing Job!

After 12 years our roof was badly in need of replacement. Having seen billboards for Findlay Roofing around Woodstock, I called and arranged for an estimate. The estimator was right on time, very knowledgable, and gave me what I thought was a very competitive quote which I accepted. The work crew showed up on time, worked dilligently, was very professional and finished the entire roofing job in just under two days. As far as cleanup, you couldn't tell they were ever there. I recommend Findlay VERY highly!
