Physician's staff thorough and listen well
Wow, a lot of the reviews on here are pretty harsh. I've been a patient of Dr Meinhold's (and his PA's) for going on 10 years now, and I haven't really had any of the negative experiences mentioned by other reviewers. Sure, the front office staff can be a little indifferent or "task-oriented", but by no means rude or disrespectful. Dr Meinhold and the PAs do often run a little behind later in the morning or afternoon, but that's likely because they're taking the time to hear their patients out and not rush through things just to stick to a schedule (which in my view is a good thing). It's true that they are closed Fridays, but I've never had trouble getting in for an appointment the other days. As for misdiagnoses, I haven't experienced that that I'm aware of. I can’t comment on prices (I gave it 4 stars just to not mess up the average) because I’m pretty removed from what things cost since insurance covers everything. Overall, I’ve had good experiences there and will continue to be a customer of theirs unless that changes.

Believe all the good ratings
I haven't made any major purchases from Scott, but I've had my road bike in there several times for some minor repairs. The shop can get majorly busy, esp. in the summer, but every time I've been there Scott has made time to talk through with me exactly what needed to be done and why. A couple of times he did the repair on the spot while I waited. He's a very personable and friendly guy, and his prices are always more than fair. I fully recommend the Bicycle Doctor.

Knowledgeable, personable, trustworthy
Scott and Amos at The Bicycle Wheel are both very knowledgeable, personable, and good at what they do. This past spring, I (a relative newbie) was looking to have a road bike built up out of a hodge-podge of old, used components. I called around and visited several shops in the area (including one of the big chain shops), and the Bicycle Wheel's price was definitely competitive, if not the lowest (it's been a while). What tipped the scales in their direction was the time that Amos took with me to go through each and every component to be sure it was functional and compatible with the others, and help me come up with a list of other smaller items (rim tape, cables/housing, derailleur bracket, etc) that I needed to acquire before the build. None of the other shops took this type of time with me at all, just gave me a rough quote without even glancing at my parts. Scott did the build on my bike, and I have been very pleased with it to date. So, overall a great shop, and I'm glad to know and use these guys. The only reason for 4 stars on 'value' is that their accessories can be a little on the pricey side and can be found significantly discounted online. But, local bike shops can't really compete there, and where these guys shine is in their service. Also worth noting: the Saturday morning group rides are a lot of fun and a great way to get initiated to the sport.

Quality work, agreed-upon pricing up front
I had a few quotes done for the installation of a chandelier in a room with no pre-existing fixture receptacle in the ceiling, and no access from above. Mr. Sparky was the 3rd of those quotes. Initially it was substantially higher than others because the pricing for the receptacle installation was separated from the chandelier prep/install (priced a la carte). But our tech, Thad, was able to get his manager to approve throwing the chandelier hanging in with the wiring job. This made the quote comparable with the others. That, coupled with the company's good reputation and warranty, etc, made us decide to go with them. The installation was performed right then and so far, so good. Our technician was very friendly (gave a Mr. Sparky coloring book to our 2 year old) and personable, and seemed detail-oriented and cleaned up after himself well. Time will tell how well everything holds up, but the 12 mo warranty on the parts and labor gives some peace of mind. Overall I recommend them, just make sure to have gotten other quotes first so you know what ballpark they should be in. Also note that their home visit for a quote is free if you have them do the job on the spot, or decline entirely. If you opt for them to come back at a later time, you will have to pay a service fee for the subsequent visit.
